This is Iris. She is a nurse in our Bolcskei Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) and she is very lucky to be standing with her doctor Dr Yaron Almagor.
Recently Iris was watching a video on the Shaare Zedek Medical Center Jerusalem / המרכז הרפואי שערי צדק Facebook page showing Dr Elad Asher the Director of Shaare Zedek’s ICCU describing the warnings of potential heart issues.
Iris had started to experience some of these symptoms recently when she was exercising and realised she should probably have them checked out. Within a week she was seen by Dr. Yaron Almagor, the Director of our Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Catheterization Lab. He performed a catheterization, which saved her life.
Iris shared, “I could have collapsed and had a heart attack in the streets. The clear descriptions of the warning signs in the clip convinced me to get checked straight away. They found an occlusion in the main artery and immediately performed the catheterization.”
Thank goodness Iris is now ok, but it just goes to show how a random video on Facebook can ‘sometimes’ make a difference!
