To commemorate Jerusalem Day we reflect on the never-to-be forgotten summer of 1967, when Shaare Zedek was literally operating at the heart of the city facing its biggest existential threat.
Shaare Zedek’s genetics research lauded in The Lancet

Our Hospital Celebrates 115 Years
This year our great hospital celebrates its 115th birthday. It is thanks to a group of European Jews from Germany and the Netherlands consisting of prominent Rabbis and philanthropists that Shaare Zedek Medical Centre exists and it is through your continued generosity that it remains Jerusalem’s finest hospital.
A Home Away From Home
Hospital isn’t a place anyone would want to call home, but for Shmulik Novikov who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of four months Shaare Zedek has been his second home and the doctors and nurses his extended family for almost 18 years.
Preterm baby returns to NICU to complete residency
In a moment of poignancy, Dr Netanel Wasserteil completed his residency at Shaare Zedek in the same unit which saved his life when he was born at just 3lb 4oz.
