Chanukah is nearly here, and we are kicking off the celebrations with a special two-part giveaway. 

Firstly, we are giving away two ‘Build A Bear Hanukah Surprise Gift Boxes’, the perfect treat for little ones and anyone young at heart. 

Two winners will be chosen, one from Instagram and one from Facebook. 
Winners will be announced on the first night of Chanukah, 14 December, and the gift boxes will be arranged for collection or delivery.

Shaare Zedek UK – Chanukah Competition Terms and Conditions 

These Terms and Conditions apply to the Shaare Zedek UK “Shaare the Light – Chanukah Competition” comprising Part One (Build A Bear Giveaway) and Part Two (Doughnut Giveaway). By entering either competition, participants agree to be bound by the following rules. 

1. Promoter

General Terms (Apply to Both Parts of the Competition) 

2. Eligibility 

2.1. The competition is open to UK residents only, aged 18 or over. 
2.2. Entrants must hold a valid Instagram or Facebook account. 

3. How to Enter 

3.1. Entry requirements are described in the competition posts on Instagram and Facebook. 
3.2. Only entries that follow all required steps will be considered valid. 
3.3. Duplicate or fraudulent accounts will not be accepted. 
3.4. No purchase or donation is necessary to enter. 

4. Opening and Closing Dates 

4.1. Each competition has individual deadlines, stated in the relevant post. 
4.2. Entries submitted after the listed closing time will not be counted. 

5. Winner Selection 

5.1. Winners will be chosen at random from all valid entries. 
5.2. One winner will be selected from Instagram and one from Facebook for each competition. 
5.3. Shaare Zedek UK’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

6. Notification of Winners 

6.1. Winners will be contacted via direct message on the platform they entered from. 
6.2. Winners must respond within 48 hours. If no response is received, Shaare Zedek UK reserves the right to select an alternative winner. 
6.3. Winners may be asked for their name, contact details and address for the purpose of prize fulfilment. 

7. Prizes 

7.1. Prizes are as stated in each competition post and cannot be exchanged or transferred. 
7.2. No cash alternatives are available. 
7.3. Shaare Zedek UK reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary. 

8. Delivery and Collection 

8.1. Build A Bear prizes may be collected or delivered within the UK. 
8.2. Doughnut prizes must be collected from a Hertfordshire address due to freshness. 
8.3. Shaare Zedek UK accepts no responsibility for any delays or issues with collection or delivery. 

9. Publicity 

9.1. By entering, participants agree that their name, social media handle and submitted Chanukiah photo (Part Two only) may be shared on Shaare Zedek UK social media channels. 
9.2. No additional personal details will be used without consent. 

10. Data Protection 

10.1. Any personal data collected will be used solely for administering the competition. 
10.2. Data will not be shared with third parties or used for marketing unless explicit permission is given. 
10.3. All data will be handled in accordance with UK GDPR regulations. 

11. Liability 

11.1. Shaare Zedek UK accepts no responsibility for incomplete, lost, or undelivered entries due to technical issues. 
11.2. The promoter is not liable for any loss, damage or injury resulting from participation in the competition or acceptance of a prize. 

12. Disqualification 

Shaare Zedek UK reserves the right to remove entries or disqualify participants who: 

  • Breach these terms and conditions 
  • Use offensive or inappropriate content 
  • Attempt to manipulate or unfairly influence the competition 

13. Changes to the Competition 

Shaare Zedek UK reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the competition if unforeseen circumstances arise. 

14. Platform Disclaimer 

This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or Facebook. 
Participants provide information to Shaare Zedek UK, not to Instagram or Facebook. 

15. Governing Law 

These terms and conditions are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
