Part-time Volunteer Database and Administration Wizard!
Shaare Zedek UK exists to raise funds for the Shaare Zedek Medical Centre (SZMC) in Jerusalem, a very special General Hospital which combines 117 years of compassionate care with advanced medical research and ground breaking operational practice. Our hospital is strictly non-political and does not discriminate on grounds of religious, racial or financial means. With over 100 departments spanning 14 centres of medical excellence, Shaare Zedek serves more than half a million patients annually. It is the fastest growing hospital in the region and continues to respond to the needs of Jerusalem’s uniquely diverse population. In addition, the incredible work of our hospital extends beyond Israel to international disaster recovery operations, promoting collaboration between research institutions and supporting infrastructure in developing countries.
Shaare Zedek UK comprises a very small team of hard-working and dedicated professionals, who are now in need of additional support. We are therefore looking to recruit a confident and competent Database and Administration Wizard! Tasks to be undertaken include but are not restricted to:
- Processing and inputting of Appeal donations and receipts;
- Wide-reaching records maintenance using our in-house database (CRM);
- General office administration including archiving and on-line research.
To be eligible for this volunteer position, at minimum you will need to demonstrate:
- A confident, positive and team-focussed attitude;
- IT literacy and competence (especially in Word and Excel);
- A willingness to expand your IT knowledge and to learn new systems;
- The ability to think freely and problem solve.
A knowledge of the Charitable sector would be an advantage, as would a methodical attitude to process driven tasks.
We are looking for a wizard with the time available to be able to commit to regular hours in the office.
Full training will be provided and a sense of humour is essential.
Based in our Temple Fortune office, we are very well situated for public transport links. Our ground floor, open plan office is easily accessible and we offer a Kosher (milky only) kitchen and smoke free office environment. All volunteers are required to read and sign a Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement, and to abide by the Policies and Procedures of the organisation at all times. Regrettably there is no parking available onsite – reasonable travelling expenses will be reimbursed.
To apply for this challenging position, in the first instance please email your CV and covering letter, to include an explanation of why you have applied and your availability, to gail@shaarezedek.org.uk.
Applications should please be received by 5pm on Thursday 11th July 2019.
Informal interviews will be held during the week commencing Monday 15th July 2019.
