Thank you Rachelle Goldberg for visiting Shaare Zedek’s Friedman Family Paediatric Outpatient Pavilion this morning. Our young patients, their visitors and our staff very much enjoyed the soothing sounds of your beautiful melodies.
Rachelle and her parents Sidney and Sylvia Goldberg z”l, have been supporting Shaare Zedek for many years. In 2009, after her mother passed away, Rachelle and her father visited Shaare Zedek. Two years later, her father passed away. At that time, Rachelle was part of a Music and Medicine program at a hospital in Houston Texas and she decided to come, play the violin at Shaare Zedek.
She was the first person to play the violin for our patients. Since then, whenever Rachelle visits she plays for our patients. She explained, “Music is a wonderful therapy and lifts the spirits of the patients and relatives alike. It can transform a person to have positive feelings and inspire them. I am very grateful to Audrey Gross for the opportunity to visit and play for the patients at Shaare Zedek.”
