Shaare Zedek’s Director of the Brain Tumour Treatment Unit Dr Iddo Paldo has been appointed as Vice President of the World Federation of Neurosurgery. Representing the most senior appointment of any Israeli physician to the prestigious international body of neurosurgery.
Born in Jerusalem, to a family that can trace its roots back nine generations in the city, Dr. Paldor is married and the father of four. He pursued his medical studies and training at Hadassah University Medical Centre before performing fellowships at one of America’s leading brain care centres, Johns Hopkins, and at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia.
The WFNS is the umbrella organization for the world’s leading neurosurgery organizations and is widely recognized as the platform for international collaborations in research and clinical advancement.
Dr. Paldor welcomed the announcement saying, “I’m deeply thankful to the members of the Israeli Neurosurgery Society for their support and for the heads of the international body for honouring me with this prestigious appointment.
