ברוך אתה ה’ אלוקינו מלך העולם שהחיינו וקיימנו והגיענו לזמן הזה
Blessed are You, L-rd our G‑d, King of the Universe, who has granted us life, sustained us and enabled us to reach this occasion.
These words seemed most appropriate to share with you this Rosh Hashanah.
A new beginning after a year more challenging, communally and globally than any of us could have possibly imagined.
In March we launched an Emergency Appeal exclusively online, and raised hundreds and thousands of pounds which were immediately sent to the hospital in Jerusalem. Thank you for your support in facing one of our toughest times. Shaare Zedek prides itself on being ready for anything and this virus was no exception. Our incredible team physically tore down and rebuilt parts of the hospital in a matter of hours, to ensure our Corona patients had state of the art care in the safest environment possible. You came together with us to ensure our doctors and nurses could, can and will continue to be able to make decisions based on the best needs of our patients. You stepped up to support us in such a generous way that we will never forget. Thank you.
2020 is proving to be a very unusual year so instead of a formal appeal, this Rosh Hashanah we are sharing with you an update of all the developments from the hospital. If you find yourself in a position to continue to support us at this time we are incredibly grateful for your donation. Every penny counts. We fully understand that this may not be possible. No matter how your giving changes, it is important to us that you know you are always part of the Shaare Zedek family.
